How many times have you heard the saying "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade"? I used to think this was a nice healthy perspective until I started doing a lot of self-work.
Every time I hear someone say that, I wonder why just lemonade? There are so many things a person can do with lemons, yet most people go straight to, "I guess I will make some lemonade". Don't get me wrong, I love me a glass of ice cold, well, anything on a hot summers day. I just think there is a way to turn the power up on this statement.
How about, "When life hands you lemons, do anything and everything you desire to do with them". I'm thinking science projects, recipes, cleaning spray, lotion, oils, skin rub, etc. The list could probably go on for days!
It's important to pay attention to the words that you say, the thoughts that you have, and most importantly the energy you put into them. If someone else comes up to you and mentions some old saying that sounds limited in any way, speak up with a new way to say it. A new way to think about it.
Life really is what we make it. So whether you are handed lemons, a stack of cards, or pencil and paper... don't be afraid to show up with your creativity.
People will try to tell you that you can't. You will most likely hear people say it's never been done that way, or that you don't have what it takes. PUSH FORWARD! Your actions will always speak louder than your words and just by leaning into the fear and doing the thing anyway, you are telling the world WATCH ME.
Invest time on becoming the person you need to be, the person you have always wanted to be, and the person you were meant to be. I've never heard anyone say they regretted living an authentic fulfilling life and you won't either.
